Chano Boxing

Terms of Service

The deal between you and Chano Boxing: what the membership is, how you cancel it, how the free pass works, the rules in the gym, and what the AI assistant is and is not.

Last updated September 4, 2026

The agreement

These terms apply when you use this website, the member app, or train at either Chano Boxing location. By creating an account, booking a class or walking in, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.

Your account

You need to be 18 or older to open an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian opens it and signs for you. Give us real information and keep it current — your emergency contact is not a formality, it is who we call. Your account is yours alone; do not lend it out, and tell us if someone else gets into it.

Membership: month to month, no lock-in

The membership costs $89 per month and covers both gyms and every class: boxing, muay thai, and strength and conditioning. There is no contract, no minimum term and no cancellation fee. You are never locked into a year.

  • It renews automatically every month on the day you signed up, and we charge the card on file.
  • The first charge happens when you join; there is no prorating unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
  • If we ever change the price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then.
  • If a payment fails, we email you and try again. If it keeps failing, we pause your access until it is fixed.

Cancelling

Cancel from your own account, any time

You cancel from the account page, in two taps, whenever you want. No phone call, no visit to the front desk, no talking to anyone who tries to keep you, no form to request. Signing up takes a few clicks and cancelling takes fewer.

Your membership stays active until the end of the month you already paid for, and it does not renew after that. We do not prorate a partial month. You can come back later at whatever the price is then.

The free day pass

  • One free day pass per person, once. It is not per month and not per location.
  • It is good for one day at either gym, and you can take any class that day.
  • You have to sign the waiver before you train, like everyone else.
  • No card is required to claim it, and we do not sign you up for anything automatically.
  • It is not transferable, not exchangeable for money and not stackable with other offers.
  • Classes fill up. The pass is subject to space in the class you want.
  • If you have already trained here as a member, the free pass does not apply.
  • Not interested in a membership? A day pass costs $25.

Gym rules

Short list, seriously enforced:

  • Do what the coach says. In a room full of people throwing punches, that is a safety rule, not a manners rule.
  • Wear the protective gear you are told to wear. No sparring without it.
  • Sparring only when a coach says you are ready and only with a partner who agreed to it.
  • No training under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No aggression outside the drill: no hazing, no going hard on a beginner, no settling anything personal in the ring.
  • Wipe down what you sweat on. Wrap your hands. Do not train with an open cut.
  • Tell your coach about injuries, pregnancy, surgery or medication before class, not after.
  • Respect everyone in the room: staff, members and visitors. Harassment gets your membership terminated the same day.
  • Do not film other people without their permission.
  • Under-18 members train only in the classes their coach clears them for.

The waiver is required

Nobody trains here without a signed liability waiver, including on the free pass. Sparring and contact require a second, separate consent, and photo and video use is a third one you can decline without it affecting anything. You can withdraw the sparring consent whenever you want by telling your coach.

The AI assistant and AI-generated meal plans

You are talking to a machine, not to a health professional

The training assistant and the meal plans in this app are generated by artificial intelligence. There is no human coach, dietitian, nutritionist, trainer or doctor reviewing each answer before you read it. Nothing it produces is medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment or a prescription, and it is not a licensed health professional of any kind.
  • What it gives you is general educational information about training and eating, not personal medical guidance.
  • It does not know your medical history, your medications, your allergies or your lab results, and it can be confidently wrong.
  • Talk to a doctor before you start this or any training program, and before you change how you eat — especially if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, diabetes, high blood pressure, an eating disorder, an injury, or you are taking any medication.
  • Do not use it to diagnose anything, to decide whether to take a medication, or to decide whether an injury needs a doctor.
  • If a coach in the gym tells you one thing and the assistant tells you another, listen to the coach.
  • We are not responsible for what happens if you follow AI-generated guidance without checking it with a professional.

Emergencies: call 911

The AI assistant is not for emergencies. If you are having chest pain, trouble breathing, a head injury, loss of consciousness, a seizure, severe bleeding, or thoughts of hurting yourself, stop and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not wait for an answer from the app.

Your conversations with the assistant are handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not send it information you would not want stored, and understand that we send your messages to an outside AI provider to generate an answer.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by an outside payment processor; we never hold your full card number. Membership fees are not refundable for months already used. If we charge you by mistake, tell us and we fix it. If we have to close a gym for a long stretch for something within our control, we credit the affected time.

When we can end your membership

We can suspend or end a membership for breaking the gym rules, for harassing or endangering anyone, for repeated non-payment, or for lying about something that matters to safety. When we end it for a reason other than your conduct, we refund the unused part of the month.

Limits of our responsibility

The website and the app are provided as they are. We do not promise they will never be down or never be wrong. To the fullest extent California law allows, our total liability connected to the website, the app or the AI assistant is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

This limit does not apply to gross negligence, to intentional or reckless conduct, or to anything California law does not allow us to limit. Injuries in the gym are governed by the signed waiver, which itself does not cover gross negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute is resolved in the courts of San Diego County. If a court strikes part of these terms, the rest stays in force.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we update the date at the top. For changes that affect your money or your rights, we tell you by email at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before they take effect.
